🍓 frúto Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 7, 2026

frúto ("the app") helps you track seasonal produce, local prices, grocery lists, and recipes. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. The short version: frúto has no user accounts, and the only data shared with other users is what you explicitly choose to post.

Information You Choose to Share

When you use community features, the content you submit is stored in our database (Google Firebase) and is visible to all other users of the app:

Please don't include personal information (like your full name, address, or contact details) in public posts.

Information Stored Only on Your Device

The following never leaves your device:

Camera and Photos

The app requests camera access only when you scan a receipt or take a photo for a recipe or produce icon, and photo library access only when you pick an existing photo. Receipt text is processed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework — receipt images are not uploaded anywhere. Only the item names and prices you review and confirm are shared as price reports.

Location

If you grant location access, it is used on-device to show nearby grocery stores. Your location is never stored on our servers or shared with other users.

Purchases

Subscriptions and theme purchases are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see or store your payment details. You can manage or cancel your subscription in the app's Settings or through your Apple ID account settings.

Notifications

Seasonal produce alerts are scheduled locally on your device. We do not send remote push notifications.

Third-Party Services

frúto uses Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) to store and sync community content. Firebase may collect basic technical information (such as IP addresses) as part of operating the service. See Firebase's privacy documentation. We do not use advertising networks or analytics trackers, and we do not sell any data.

Children

frúto is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Retention and Deletion

Community posts remain in the shared database so other users can benefit from price history. If you would like content you posted removed, contact us with a description of the post and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
